So I've been in California for ten days now, and am adjusting quite nicely. Yesterday, I marveled at the fact that I had to wear a jacket when I went out to lunch. A jacket. In July. It was heaven.
The movers arrived with our stuff two days ago, and now our apartment looks like this. To Jeff and I, it is utter chaos; to Elsie and Floyd, it is a wonderland. It's as if we've built them an elaborate climbing gym. Elsie is particularly pleased that we finally had the sense to build her a perch to look out the window. Unfortunately, a lot of our furniture was damaged in the move, as shown here. I look forward to a long battle with our moving company over the damaged items. Good times!
Despite the chaos and the broken furniture, it's good to be here. I've been exploring the neighborhood, reading, and catching up on sleep. I'm especially happy to be back with Jeff and the cats. It's good to have the family all under one roof again.
Glad you're all under one roof again. I can just picture the cats' delight when all the boxes and furniture arrived.
I'm jealous that you're wearing jackets. Back in the piedmont we've endured a couple of weeks with temperatures well over 100 -- and very humid!
Love the blog....keep the updates coming. :)
